All Inspectors can be reached by
calling the office during the hours of operation.
Functions of the Fire Inspectors
are:
To do annual fire safety inspections of
all commercial building and offices, life safety and non-life safety,
and issue certificates of compliance if there are no violations.
Perform smoke detector inspections of
all residents, one , two, and multi-family dwellings, for sale or rent
for the safety of the homeowner and tenants. A certificate of
smoke detector compliance is issued after the fire inspectors passes
the premises.
Issue fire permits to any business who
operates welding torches, or uses an open flame for repairs.
Permits are also issued for special events in the town.
We handle fire safety complaints
pertaining to fire code violations on any residential or commercial
building and issue violation notices if needed.
Functions of the Health
Department are:
The health officers does annual
sanitary inspections of each business who operates a retail food
establishment, mobile catering truck or food vending machine, after
which a certificate of satisfactory conditions is issued.
Issues health licenses to people who
wish to vend food, after an application has been filled out.
Handles complaints on all environmental
and health related problems.
